5 Top Places to Publish Your Webtoon

If you’re wondering where the “publish” button can be found for making a Webtoon on WEBTOON CANVA, the way that I’m able to find it when I’m on my mobile device like my samsung phone is that I will use my internet browser on my phone to find the publish button instead of Webtoons reading app.

An important note, I have to access the desktop version of their website to find the publish button because it doesn’t appear on the mobile version of their site. So even if you don’t have a computer you can still access their publishing features from your mobile phone internet browser. Here is a video showing how you can publish a webtoon easily online. I’m showing my process of accessing the desktop version of WEBTOON CANVA from your phone that way you can find the publish button:

Now let’s move on to other places that you can publish a webcomic on for instance ARTStreet from Medibang Paint, LINE Webtoon, Tapas, POPComics and WebComics_App are a few of my top 5 places to publish a Webtoon Comic

WebComics App Webtoon Publishing Site

I haven’t really searched for webcomic hosting sites probably since back in 2010-2012, since I found 2 of my favorites I’ve stuck with them but this caused me to be a bit out of the loop.

Host my own Webtoon Webcomic Website

Luckily this is something a little research online can fix! So here are my top 5 favorite places where you can publish your webtoon! (For free!)

  • Medibang (ARTstreet): I like how Medibang paint not only has their own free art app/program but they also offer a number of amazing services for aspiring comic artist to utilize.

  • Webtoon: One of the specific things that I enjoy about LINE webtoon is how they also market they’re Aspiring Webtoon artist in their Canva section.
  • Tapas: This is also another webtoon website where I post my own webcomics on. I like how easy it is to publish my webcomic and how friendly and welcoming the community is!
  • WebComics_App: This is another great Webtoon comic publishing site because they also offer personal editors that can offer more insight to help your storytelling as well as revenue options for new comic artist to make a living with their comics!
  • PopComics: This webcomic website was a pleasant surprise because I’ve never heard of it before! It’s a free-to-read, ad-supported mobile platform for comics and manga that’s open to absolutely everyone!

Honorable mention:

I just found these website and I just had to include this on the list as well!

  • GlobalComix: Is also another surprise gem find! They are a self-serve comics publishing platform that allows anyone to create, upload, and publish their comics.
  • Graphite Comics: is the free, streaming comics service built by readers and creators, for readers and creators.

Older Honorable Mentions:

Even though these sites may be a bit dated I still wanted to mention them because they have been around for a long time and helped me along with some many other aspiring comic artist share our comics for free online!

Comic Fury: Now this site again is a bit dated but they are also a free platform for you to publish your webcomic online.

The Duck Webcomics: Along side SmackJeeves they are also one of the oldest webcomic hosting sites. They also look a bit dated like Comic Fury but it’ still a nice site that I’ve used in the past to post my webcomic online with.

Best Social Media Sites to Publish your Webtoon:

Now one of the tricks that I’m learning is to also utilize social media platforms to publish my webcomic as well! So far I’ve noticed that utilizing hashtags helps you expand the reach of your webtoon. I may of may not have created my own hashtag to help me keep track of my own comic…..maybe.

Instagram: I like to use the highlight and image bulk upload to share some of my webtoon panels. I like the highlight feature because I can post my favorite webtoon episode at the top for everyone that stops by my page to see first. I recommend you use this to publish your webtoon as well.

Twitter: I like to share little one or four panel snippets of some of my favorite character facial expressions. I don’t really know if hashtags are as affective on Twitter because I haven’t done much research but it doesn’t hurt to at least create a hashtag of your comic….for marketing purpose…..

Facebook: I love that facebook allows you to create albums of the images you upload. This way I can publish full chapters of my webcomic to shove in the faces of my family and friends…in an organized fashion of course.

Tumblr: Ah Tumblr, right now I have my upload set to mirror whatever I upload from my website but you can still utilize their hashtags and publish your webcomic easily on their platform. Also bonus is that they’re image stacking option is PERFECT for when you publish your webtoon on their platform as well!

Honorable mentions:

TikTok App: Now don’t let this app fool you, I’ve finally found my groove on how to share my webcomic on their and so far it’s working AMAZING! I mentioned before in a past post about how to use TikTok as an artist and now I’m so excited that after trial and error I found what works best for me.

Three letters AMV….I literally just find a song that I like and then find panel scenes from my webtoon and create a little anime music video with transitions and everything! I LOVE it! So TikTok is also another option.

How to Make a Webcomic Site For Free

Now along with these free platforms there are also two other stand alone sites that you can utilize to publish your webtoon on.

You can use these two sites like free webcomic hosting sites! I think this is a great way to get your feet wet if you’ve been thinking about possibly hosting your webcomic on your own website.

Like how I do on my website right now, I’d be happy to talk about that more in the future if that’s something you’d be interested in learning more about, just let me know in the comments.

Patreon and Ko-Fi:

No up front cost to create an account on either of them. Both are membership type platforms that makes it easy for artist to build and audience and monetizes their work!

Honorable mention:

Gumroad: I along with other comic creators have utilized this online platform. It helps creators to easily sell products from books to music what have you, directly to their audience!

itch.io: This is a distribution website for creatives to host and even sell their content on. From Comics to video games I think it totally deserves an honorable mention.
