Fiverr and ArtStation are two great places where you can find comic artist to illustrate your webtoon comic idea!
- -Fiverr
I’ve personally posted my illustration services and have been able to received a fair amount of art commissions there as well. Fiverr is used by a lot of big and small business to find freelance comic artist.
Here are a few of my features you can use on fiverr to hire freelancers artist easily!
- -You can use Fiverr’s search feature and filter to find the right comic illustrator for your comic book idea.
- -You can check out their freelance work samples on their offer page as well as look at the reviews they’ve received from people that hired them~
- -You can also easily contact the comic artist with any questions.
- -They also provide a deadline timer so that there is no worry about the job being finished in a timely manner!
I personally really like how they have a rating and review system because you’re able to filter through and see which artist would be a good fit for you based off the reviews others have left for their services. Also they are very budget friendly so for those who have a tight budget you should definitely check out the gigs on there.
- -ArtStation
ArtStation is very art/illustrator centric so you should be able to find artist that fit more of the comic/manga style a lot easier on their platform.
They have one of the largest job boards and even gives studios and opportunity to promote their job offers to a large community of professional artist!
They have lots of cool features like:
- -Customizable Company page where you can promote all of your job offers
- -Auto job reposting where you can automatically repost it to the top of your job list and send it out to your mailing list again .
- -Statistics so you can see the performance of your job post and which job offer is attracting the most attention.
How much does it cost to hire a comic book artist?
If you are looking to work with a freelance comic book artist then the prices will vary but typically the price per page penciled or inked in can cost up to $200 according to stats from a survey on the Creator Resource site
If you don’t have the biggest budget then I do recommend trying out fiverr to look for comic artist that are offering their services at a lower cost but do be aware that with lower cost there might be some qualities compromises.
This isn’t to say that low cost means low quality but I’d like you to keep in mind that time is money when it comes to commissioning a Comic Artist.
So the more time spent on a piece the more money it will inevitably cost.
Which is why if you want something cheaper then the quality and speed will be effected.
Just like if you want something higher quality then the price and the speed will also be effected.
