Promoting Your Webtoon with Pinterest SEO in 2020: A Beginner’s Guide

Are you looking to gain more views and subscribers for your webtoon comic? Utilizing SEO, specifically on Pinterest, can be a great introvert-friendly way to increase your webtoon’s reach. As of 2020, Pinterest’s image search optimization has become a powerful tool for webtoon creators to increase their visibility.

I personally started using Pinterest more seriously in January 2020 and have seen a significant increase in views to my webtoon per month on my website. While I am not sure of the analytics for my webtoon on the LINE Webtoons platform, most of my subscribers found me through video marketing on TikTok. But that’s a topic for another day.

The point is, using Pinterest’s Image SEO can be a game changer for promoting your webtoon. Not only does it increase views, but it also helps with gaining more subscribers. However, it’s important to note that on the LINE Webtoons platform, there is no option for hashtags and their algorithm primarily works off of update frequency and likes or views.

So, how do you promote your webtoon? A great way to start is by using other platforms to market your comic, such as Pinterest. It’s important to remember that “platform builds platform” and using Pinterest’s SEO can help increase your visibility.

I won’t go into a detailed tutorial on how to use Pinterest, as there are plenty of experienced pinners out there who can explain it better, but just by uploading one image of your webtoon and adding relevant keywords and linking it back to your webtoon on CANVA WEBTOON or Tapas can help you get more views and subscribers.

Since I started pinning more frequently on Pinterest, my pins have reached 160k impressions per month. This means that my webtoon’s pinned image shows up on the front page of people exploring Pinterest, which is a significant increase from the handful of impressions my webtoon may have gained from being in the newly updated section of the WEBTOON CANVA platform.
