Webtoons now and days are typically done digitally in color but you can still do them with digital screen tone so the software that I normally use for my webtoon is a mix between Clip Studio Paint and MedibangPaint.
The reason why I use Clip Studio paint is because it makes coloring in my webtoon super easy with their lasso fill tool so I can select an area and fill it in in less than a second.
I also love using Clip Studio Paint AI colorization filter so I can color my webtoon background super quick and easy without struggling with blending colors!
What tablets do webtoon artist use?
Now the tablet that I also use for creating my webtoon is my iPad and that’s also where I use MedibangPaint!
Medibang Paint is free and since the desktop version of Clip Studio Paint doesn’t transfer over to the app version I use Medibang Paint instead.
Clip Studio Paint does have an app for the iPad but it’s subscription based and a lot of what I need to create my webtoon is also avalibe on Medibang Paint.
Of course the 3D background feature isn’t available with Medibang like it is with Clip Studio Paint but Medibang does have their own material and community section!
Also if I really want to have a 3D model doll to use to figure out a character pose then I can always use Magic Poser which can be used on my iPad tablet and also through a web browser!
