The way that I get more comments on my webtoon is that I ask my readers their thoughts about the episode to help with engagement.
I was kind of amazed how people left more comments when I asked them a question at the end of my webtoon update.
I’m an introvert so usually I won’t talk if I don’t have anything to say but if I see a question then I’m more inclined to actually say something or leave a comment.
When I think about it a little more deeply (because I’m a classic over thinker) it’s just like when you’re end a group and you want someone to talk to you, first thing that helps is to ask questions to get the conversation going.
The majority of conversation seems to be questions and answers so this is a great little “trick” to get people to talk to you aka leave comments and engage with you on your webtoon.
What Kind of Questions should I ask?
This is where you can get a little creative. Sometimes the questions I ask are to help add value by asking what people thought of a certain scene or asking their thoughts on a certain character. That way I can learn more about my audience and if I need to fix up any clarity hiccups with the story.
Another type of question you can ask is an entertainment type question to help you connect with your readers. For example I like to point out which scene cracked me up and ask which one made them laugh and usually this results in those with the same sense of humor as me to comment that they felt the same way or what else they connected with.
I personally feel a lot closer to webtoon creators and readers when we’re able to share in similar interests or emotions.
It’s hard for me to explain but it helps to build a deeper connection and that way makes me and others come back and leave another comment in the next update because a connection has been built.
You gotta go full Naruto on them and get that connection and protect it at all cost!
What should you do next?
