Long answer short, if you’re looking for a great alternative to wacom tablet get the iPad from apple (I know sounds weird but just trust me on this one)
Now I love wacom products, like I seriously LOVE them! I’ve had my Wacom Cintiq display tablet for well over 10+ years and she still works like new (depsite the pen calibration issues that I sometimes rant about in other blog post)
But buying a display tablet or even the Wacom MoibleStudio Pro tablet can set you back well over $3k
Artist are know for being starving….so what artist, let a lone beginner artist has $3k conveniently sitting around?
It took me YEARS to save up that much to finally invest in my Display tablet and I haven’t bought another display tablet since 2010….well that is until I stumbled upon the iPad.
Apple has yet again come through in the clutch and created a product that you can not only procrastinate on but also in the same breath bust out some amazing pieces of art
Is the iPad pro a good choice for beginning illustrators?
Most definitely! If you’re a beginner artist or illustrator your gonna want something that has a long battery life because us artist not know how to have a balanced work life.
So when we start drawing something we stay on that piece of art for like 5 hours straight and you’ll need a tablet that can be your road dog and stay up for the ride! (I sound like my aunt….)
I know it sounds so weird to say that you can use the iPad for drawing comics or digital art but just think about it this way; it’s already created for displaying movies and tv shows in HD.
It’s already made for the visual appeal and manpower of creating art. The color display is on point but it can handle apps being used for long periods of time!
Because again it’s made for streaming shows and you can even use the split screen to multi-task and watch youtube and Netflix while writing your notes at the same time…my attention span is that bad.
What should you do next?
