Comic updated and updates on behind the scene work Q^Q

We have now finished all of Chapter 5 today! Yayyy!! I will be posting up the character interview questions and answers during the next weekly updates but there is something else that I wanted to talk to you guys about to sort of get it off my chest and I guess vent ^^;

Boy, oh boy has it been a crazy month O.O I didn’t expect my comic work to be taking up so much of my time (the rough drafting and the inking and toning and text) it’s a little astounding really but this past week I’ve been able to get 20 pages finished and I usually try to only work on comic work Monday through Friday but since I haven’t been able to have enough time to do any of the kickstarter promo illustrations and art print rough draft illustrations I’ve had to start pushing pages around and working almost none stop throughout the week and I guess right now I’m at the point in the game (just like last year haha ^^;) were it’s getting close to crunch time and I’m getting the blues because I want to draw faster and be more productive but there is only so much that one person can do. Right now I have a kickstarter that I’m trying to get ready for but things have changed since last year and it’s like my work load doubled so the free time that I had back then I don’t really have now, the children are starting their home school, there is no way I’m sending them to a public school I will and have found a way to work around their craziness to a certain extent ^^; and then on top of that I have to get art prints ready for the convention and make sure I have enough time for the printers to print out the books and even with that I need to make sure to have the funds to pay for the larger print run that I want to do but because I’m struggling so much with the kickstarter I haven’t been able to get that going to help me possibly raise the funds, then on top of that I worry about it not being successful because I calculated the total amount that I need to raise for the print run, ISBN number, art prints and cost of the rewards and shipping and kickstarter and tax fees, everything comes up to around $2,200 dollar. I’m still going to give it a shot but I just hope that this company that I’ve been contacting for help with the kickstarter work to lessen some of the pressure and work load contacts me back, I could really use the help.

Have you ever been so busy that you just want to sit and cry? Well even in the midst of the tears you have to just keep working, I remember being so tired after having my twins and my husband was working 3rd shift so I would be up for days to help him get sleep and take care of the kids because they would wake up so often to eat and then I would have to pump milk for them @^@ thinking about all of this just makes your head swim a little ^^; I don’t want anyone to worry about things not launching, I’m still behind the scene trying to get everything ready and set and I think after this is all said and done I’m going to take a nice long break before working on Volume 3 I think ^^; So far I’ve released a volume for each year the comic has been up, the first year passed and I released volume 1 and now we are on our second year and I am releasing volume 2 though during that time I told myself that I was going to take a break but got to excited about the story that I just couldn’t let it wait and even some of my now new readers that I met at anime conventions were even asking me about the next volume so I’m not to confident on that idea of me actually taking a break for v3 ^^; we’ll have to wait and see.

On a less venty note, if there is anyone that has experience in creating a successful kickstarter or know of a good company feel free to contact me because I could use the help, I’ll also be looking for proofreaders for volume 2 once I get all the text filled in. I’ll keep you all post on that. I also just want to make sure that I didn’t put a damper on anyone day because of my moody post but I think it’s interesting to see some of the behind the scene stress with growing and self-publishing your own webcomic, this craziness isn’t as easy as I thought it was hahaha <D but we’ll get to the end some kind of way.

Like usual I’ll be back next week with a new update, thank you so much for putting up with my nagging and for reading the comic! Until next time <3 Bye~

(I love food yum yummm~mm)

  1. Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with? I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!|

    • Feel free to ask whatever you might need to ask, I’ll try to help as best as I can and as for the platform that I use, I stick to WordPress and use comic easel plugin for posting up my comics. I altered the layout just a little from the few layouts that comic easel already had out but it’s good to know that my layout looks different. ^^
