Currently on Webtoon non-contracted webtoon comic artist that publish their webtoon on WEBTOON CANVA free publishing platform can earn money each month if they reach a certain amount of page views.
Here is a quick look at how much I make posting my webtoon on WEBTOON CANVA which is $64 within the past 3-4 years.
I am an independent artist so I’m not under contract with LINE but I am apart of their CANVA Ad Revenue Program and the amount I made is impacted by how much marketing I do for my comic so take this with a grain of salt because there are others that make a lot more and others that make less~
Now Webtoon Artist can make anywhere between $100-$2000 or more a month from posting their comics as a Canva or Featured Creator on LINE Webtoon, page views play a big role in the amount of money a Webtoon Artist make from comic publishing platforms Ad revenue programs.
According to an interview with JunKoo Kim the base pay for featured LINE Webtoon artist was $2,000 a month.
Now I’m not sure if this is specific for Featured Webtoon Artist in Korea only or if the base pay is across all the board.
This article goes into further detail why I’m a little skeptical on the media reports covering webtoon artist pay as well as what a featured creator shared on their youtube videos.
On top of the base pay they do have additional revenue income stream options like the ad revenue and coins from the fast pass.
So the more views that you get to your webtoon on LINE then the more ad revenue you can potentially end up increases your base pay.
A great thing about LINE Webtoon ad revenue program is that this option is also available for Canva creators that aren’t featured artist.
What’s the average income of a webtoon creator?
I’m not a featured artist with Tapas but I’ve made a little over $100 from 2019-2020 as a webtoon creator apart of Tapas Ad Revenue Program and from the support from the inks my subscribers give.
With Tapas you only need 100 subscribers to qualify for their Ad Revenue Program so you can start making money faster with Tapas.
Also with Tapas they stated on their site that “about 70% of ad revenue goes straight to creators”
With LINE Webtoon they stated on their site that “Creators can earn 50% from ads displayed on their series)
In order to qualify for their ad revenue program and make money on Webtoon Canva you need to have at least 1,000 subscribers and 40,000 monthly page views.
Despite having over 12k subscribers on Webtoon Canva I still don’t qualify for their Ad Revenue Program.
How much do Webtoon canvas artists make?
Currently the way to make money just publishing on Webtoon Canva and doing nothing else is by qualifying for their Ad Revenue Sharing Program.
Depending on how many page views your webtoon will receive each month you will get paid through either your Patreon that is registered with your Webtoon Account and recently PayPal.

How do you get more views to your Webtoon?
A few ways to get more views to your webtoon without having to spam your webtoon link in peoples comment section is to post panels on Pinterest.
I like to create tiny 15-30second videos showing different panels of my webtoon and post it on Pinterest, TikTok, Instagram Reel and currently I’ve been eyeballing Youtube Shorts too as another webtoon comic marketing tool!
