The best time to create a webtoon comic is always now! All you need is an art app like ibispaint or Clip Studio Paint, a mobile tablet like an iPad and a site to post a webtoon on like Tapas or LINE Webtoon Canva~
When do you know you should create a webtoon?
There never really is a good time to start anything but personally I feel the best time to start is right when your heart is saying start.
Usually I get a scared to start because I worry that I won’t be good enough but that’s how everyone started out. We all improve over time with everything that we do.
I’ve asked myself this question a lot whenever I’d have a new idea for a webtoon comic but I always hesitated from starting the webtoon because I was afraid that it wasn’t the right time to start.
I’ve learned through experience that the simple answer to that question is that now is the best time to start. The moment I have the idea then I should go ahead and start it.
I’ll never truly know for sure that I made the right decision of starting a webtoon but from my past failued stories I can acknowledge whatever mistakes I’ve made and learn from them so that I don’t repeat them again.
I’m afraid to have another story end up on hiatus or have all the work and effort I put in a story all be in vain because I gave up on it.
During times like this I’ve learned that I really need to make sure I’m practicing self-awareness. There is nothing wrong with stopping and starting a story.
It’s okay even if the story went on hiatus because I still gained a lot of experience that helps me to move forward in publishing my future webtoon comics.
Nothing is ever truly wasted effort. The time I spent drawing that story helped me to workout my art muscles and get more drawing practice in.
I’m learning that there isn’t really a right or wrong time to start a webtoon. It’s never to late to start now but if you want to wait that’s fine too because some times we have to build up that mental fortitude that comes with going on another comic creating journey.
I know it can be scary to start but if you have a story that is currently setting your heart on fire then you should defiantly make a webtoon!
If it makes you happy, if it brings you joy then it was all worth it. Even if the story ends up going on hiatus the fact that it created happiness for proves that all of your effort and hard work paid off and was so worth it!
As I get older I’m learning that I need to practice more self-awareness and as a webtoon artist I think that’s especially important because sometimes we can lose focus on trying to prioritize this illusion of perfection and having a finished story.
Prioritizes your happiness because when its all said and done at the end of the day you can say that you had fun and you were happy.
So start that webtoon story because it’s never too late or too early to start doing something that makes you happy!
Your happiness is worth it and creating a webtoon is so much fun and brings so much happiness!
What should you do next?
